Tom Blacksmith and band are counted amongst the Creme de la Creme of German blues and soul bands.The jury at the Berlin Jazz and Blues Awards declared them the winners. Blacksmith's repertoire comprises finest Chicago blues and standards, original songs, and soulful and dancable funk grooves. His special guest of the evening, Nina T. Davis, sets the black and white piano keys on fire!

Following the opening set: the Giant of The Blues himself, Louisiana Red! One of the few still active African-American musicians from the immediate post-war era, who, through his more than 40 albums and world-wide live performances, was instrumental in the developement of the blues. In 1983 he received the Blues Foundation Handy Award as the best traditional blues musician. Louisiana Red doesn't just play the blues, he IS the blues! The hard story of his life resounds through his guitar playing and raw, powerful vocals.

The final set will see Louisiana Red and Tom Blacksmith jamming the blues together.
