John Lee Hooker Jr. & Band (USA)
"Two parts R&B, one part jazz, and a big mess of down home blues" is John Lee Hooker Jr.'s recipe for his music.
The offspring of the legendary musical family got the musical "bug" when he played on the radio at the age of eight. He released his first record at the age of eighteen, touring from Alaska to New Orleans, being celebrated at all the major blues festivals, and playing with such blues legends as Bo Diddley, Charlie Musselwhite, and of course his father John Lee Hooker.
His musical influences include Johnny Guitar Watson, Big Mama Thornton, Jimi Hendrix and B.B. King.
Support program: Mike Russel feat. Mfa Kera and Black Heritage (U.S.A./Senegal)
