Andrej Hermlin's Swing Dance Orchestra – Tribute to Tommy Dorsey

He was called the “sentimental gentleman of swing“. His elegant trombone tone, for which Glenn Miller envied him so much, has never been surpassed. Dorsey’s orchestra produced such hits as “Song of India“, “Marie“ and “Opus One“. Tommy Dorsey is considered to be the most important promoter of the young Frank Sinatra, who sang in the band from 1940 to 1942. Dorsey engaged the best musicians of America and highly talented arrangers like Sy Oliver. You will hear Simon Harrer on the trombone.
