The Big Chris Barber Band (GB)

The Big Chris Barber Band, an eleven piece ensemble with its own distinct sound is an exceptionally lively old time jazz ensemble, highly professional and with typical British humor. "Let's fly down to New Orleans" is the title of one of their numbers and shows the direction of the musical journey. They are among the most important New Orleans Revival bands and create a place in the present for the good old times while remaining open to newer influences. As well as Dixie standards of 20s jazz evergreens, are versions of Ellington-compositions and urban electric blues.
